​ Dr. Jerome Yelder, Sr. is the Founder, President and Chief Medical Officer of CHFS Management Services Corporation and Comprehensive Health and Family Services.

​

Dr. Yelder is a Honorable Discharged Service Connected Disabled Veteran of the United States Marine Corps with 20 plus years in professional diversified progress experience in the full spectrum of business management, cognitive behavioral therapy, pain management, correctional and forensic psychology, clinical supervision, clinical psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, peer support counseling, consulting psychology, pharmacotherapy, personality and social psychology, psychopathology, clinical neuropsychology, clinical psychology, pharmacology, personnel & human resource management, business administration, training and curriculum development.

 

While on active duty Dr. Yelder received:

 

Good Conduct Medal 5 Bronze Stars

The USMC Good Conduct Medal is awarded for outstanding performance, based on good conduct and faithful service for three- year periods of continuous active enlisted service.

 

Humanitarian Service Medal

Awarded for direct participation is defined as being physically present at the designated location, having directly contributed to and influenced the action. Designated location is the immediate site(s) of the humanitarian operations as defined by the Presidential request for assistance in the U.S. or the Department of State for overseas areas.

 

Meritorious Unit Commendation

The Meritorious Unit Commendation (MUC) is a mid-level unit award of the United States military which is awarded to any military command which displays exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service, heroic deeds, or valorous actions.

 

Dr. Yelder earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Theology from Liberty University, Master of Science in Business Administration and Management with a minor in Accounting from Kingston University, Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Capella University, Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from American University, Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Clinical/Counseling Psychology and Theocentric Business from American College of Metaphysical Theology, Doctor of Psychology in Forensic from Capella University, Post Doctoral Continued Medical Education Certification in Addiction Psychiatry from Harvard Medical School and was selected as a member of Harvard Medical School Post Graduated Association.

 

Work Experience:

MHM Correctional Services from 2001 to 2005

Clinical Director/Supervising Psychologist
 

• Provided executive management and clinical supervision at 4 correctional facilities; 2 minimal and 2 maximum overseeing 6 psychiatrists for monitoring issuance of control psychotropic. Supervised 2 Psychologists , 6 Substance Abuse Counselor, Supervised admin clerks, Mental Counselors, LCMSWs, MSWs, Clinicians, Case Managers, MSN Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, MSN Nurse Practitioners, Director of Nursing (DON) RN Supervisors and LPNs.

• Responsible for reviewing and charting using SOAP notes in inmates medical records.

• Responsible supervising and monitoring policies and procedures.

• Responsible for providing group psychotherapy for: trauma, schizophrenia, and sex offenders.

• Responsible ensuring facilities stay in compliance with state and federal SOP, policies and procedures, regulations JACHO, CARF and ACA Accreditations. Manage the budgetary process, including all medications accountability and justifying the operating budget.

• Participate as members of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, administer a wide variety of psychological assessment techniques, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive reports.

• Serve as liaison for the corporation and the wardens of each correctional facility to solve problems.

Executive Director and Administrator

• Implement the goals and objectives of the organization. Implement grant and other fundraising strategies, including researching funding sources, approaching funders, submitting grant proposals, and administering records and documentation to assure compliance with all funding requirements.

• Administer and monitor (with input from CFO/Treasurer, and Board Chair) the annual budget, including handling day to day financial transactions.

• Serve as a public advocate and educator in the community, market CCS’s mission and educate regarding the impact of trauma on the individual and the community; organize and maintain active Speaker’s Bureau; contribute clinically-relevant input for CCS publications; market CCS.

• Manage staff and volunteers, including recruitment, screening, and contracting; provide supervision and consultation for therapists; verify that therapists’ files are complete and that liability insurance and licensure remain current; assure that clinical staff abide by their professions code of ethics; plan all aspects of monthly trainings for CEUs including one ethics workshop per year; receive and assign potential client contacts; collect time logs and statistics of therapy and training hours; complete annual performance evaluations on clinical staff.

• Serve as chief liaison with Board Chair, including developing and planning meeting agendas, participating in board meetings, and coordinating strategic planning with Board Chair. 

 

United States Marine Corps 1978-1990

Personnel/Administrative Chief

• Directed human resource management programs which consisted of payroll pay, food entitlements.

• Wrote memorandums, policies and procedures on the behalf of the Commandant of the United States Marine Corps and on the behalf of the Secretary of the Navy.

• Performed supervisory duties in a variety of administrative assignments such as information technology, property management, classified materials management , accounting, logistic, intelligence and family services for over 3,000 Marines, Sailors, and their families needs.

• Identified requirement and establish personnel policies to 2,000 personnel organization.
